Sold me Glasses That Don't Work

I have been using this company for many years. The business has changed hands several times over the years.

The new people are not nearly as good as any of the former ones. My latest pair of new $1200 glasses are so bad that I am wearing my old glasses that are several years old. I have been back to this store three times to try and get this fixed to no avail. The last time I was there they told me I have cataracts and need to see an eye surgeon and get new glasses.

Well first I would think that should have been checked when I first went there for my eye exam. Second my insurance only pays for one pair of glasses every two years, $500 max.So what should I do now?

I know what I would like to do with these worthless but I would be arrested. On second thought it might be worth it.Do not useDDD

Poor Business Ethics/ Customer Service

This was a Very disappointing experience! The Dr.

Murphy was wonderful, however afterwards, the customer service, lack of communication, & final outcome after a extended wait time for my glasses was horrible!! Not only did I have to call after 3 weeks without receiving an update like I was promised, my lenses were not done correctly and have to be shipped back to a Florida Lab to be remade due to the progressive lenses showing an unusual line. On top of that I was Not aware that this is an "Affiliated" VSP location and not a "Full In-Network" location until After I had my Eyes Examined for Glasses & Contacts! I had to pay out of pocket expenses without any of my VSP Benefits that I pay for in order to use them!

On Top of Everything, I had to pay in full for the Contact Lense Exam before I could take the trial pairs home, once again without being able to use my benefits. Thankfully I had Eye Med But, it did not compare to the amount of benefits I would have received if I would have been able to use VSP here. As a consumer, I anticipate customer service to provide me with effective communication & understanding so that I have the opportunity to make a informed decision before making a purchase or doing business.

Now I have to wait for the Remake of my Lenses again, Prayerfully not another 3 weeks Whenever I ask if there is any Priority that can be requested because of the Lab error and the extended wait I've had to endure this far, I'm told there is no way to request a priority, there is No Corporate Office, or Anyone else than the Local office that can handle this. I was further told "Patient Relations" can't assist me either.

Next time I will do my research before I schedule any appointments with Mr.Eye Doctor "Affiliate " Locations.

I was lied to about the product i was buying and my eye exam was wrong and had to be done again. The lens had to be made for the third time and haven't been correct yet.i paid over $500 out of pocket

Call me and we'll talk you have my number. I call and ask about a certain product and was told that is what I was getting and when my glasses came in the first time that's not the product I receive. Then I was told that the only use their lab to make the lens and they have been correct yet a d there being made a 3rd time that has already taken 2 weeks and now I'm being told they have to be made again and it will be another week. This has been going on for two months now

Never notified the glasses were ready for pickup. Pickup is first come, first serve. No waiting area. Took them a long time to find them. Left lens correction was worse than my uncorrected sight. They wanted to blame me. Fortunately, my insurance allowed me to dispute the charge and the business refunded the purchase.

Lousy Experience

On 11/16/2022 I ordered eyeglasses and paid for them. I was informed that it takes 7-10 days for them to come in.

They did come in within 7 days, but without a quality assurance inspection so the glasses arrived with the wrong prescription and had to be sent back with an estimated date of Dec 7th but not guaranteed. I called the store and was told that they were going to expedite my order. Also contacted the main Customer Service from Corporate and told the same. Today 11/ 29/22 I called the store that I ordered my glasses from and was rudely hung up on, so I called and asked for the manager who stated that I wasn't hung up on that their phones disconnect when they put someone on hold.

The manager stated that it also takes about a month to get your glasses if they are returned to the manufacturer that it's standard policy. They just want your money then they hold your glasses hostage until they feel like getting them to you.

on august 1st i went to myeyedr and talked to the ophthalmologist and explained my situation and the diagnosis they gave me in my country, and that i only needed simple contact lenses to protect my cornea, but this doctor thought he could help me and i ended up Harming me, I have waited for a while and I did not receive anything and now they do not want to refund the money I paid in advance, they really are scammers and terrible service, and they ended up charging me more than $2,000. and I did not receive anything and they do not want to replace the money, really bad service

Bad customer service bad quality glasses

I'm in my 3rd set of glasses and still not feeling right.y first glasses were lined up wrong with the trifocals. The second pair were defected and now that I picked up the 3rd pair they don't fit correctly because the girl wouldn't listen toe when I said they weren't right. So now i will seek out a different eye dr to adjust them and maybe next year that will become my eye dr. I paid out of pocket so I have high expectations. Like I need to see out of them and they have to fit correctly!

Poor practices

Asked in July to reorder contacts on a year agreement to last until October 18 and the did not fulfill it . Calling for months since I had appointment set September 27 to remind them I was going out of the country October 8th to Uganda for a mission trip . The never ordered contacts . Their solution today after talking to manager was that they gave me expired lenses to wear . I looked up on the internet and every maker of contact lenses say it is unsafe to wear them . This is a medical place that is not professional and negligent in their duties .

My parents don't speak English and one of the employees was very rude to them and told them that I cannot translate for them because it is against their rules. We have been using my eye doctor for years and thus is the first time we heard about this. The representative also said to my parents that their English is better than hers... this is clearly discrimination because they obviously don't speak English

They broke my frames, I pay for new ones.

ln 2021, my first appointment. I wanted to keep my frames as they were only 1 yr old.

They said no problem, we can fit them with new lenses. The lenses came in. They tried to put the new lenses on and broke my frame. They said the frames must have been cracked before and said I needed to purchase a new frame which I did.

This year, I needed an update on my lenses and wanted to keep the frame. Once again, no problem. The new lenses came in. When they tried to swap out the old lenses for the new one, they did not fit properly.

They said they would need to send in my frame to have them properly fitted.

Since this is not an option since I cannot go a day without glasses, they said to just purchase a new frame. 2 years in a row, they have reasons that I need to purchase new frames thru no fault of my own.

Horrible intake person

I have been a patient of My Eye Dr for a number of years and have always used the Arlington VA store and always had an enjoyable experience. I changed jobs recently to Laurel MD I was so happy to find that there is a store so close to my job.

However, it was the worst experience I have ever had. The person that gave me the test was not helpful at all and she was also very rude. I asked her to show me how to use the new equipment and I was told to just read the sign on the wall and following the instructions. I asked her to show me how to use it and her reply was "It's going to be a long day".

The Dr. who was on the screen asked me if the Lt was in the room and I said I didn't see her, she said from the door way that she was there.

I said "Oh, I didn't see you" Her response was :I know" Also, she never said that the appointment was over I just walked to the front of the office and was then told by the receiptanist to have a seat and someone would be with me.

By that time I was so upset that I just told the gentleman to give me my Rx and the total amount due and I would go somewhere else. He asked me, if I didn't enjoy my experience and I said absolutly not.
